“Nothing was given to minorities or women. It took some fighting to get that equal opportunity, and we’re still fighting today.”

Annie Easley was a NASA mathematician, rocket scientist, and “human computer.” She was instrumental in the computer program that allowed for navigation in space. Easley also did crucial research on electric batteries, power plants, and a computer program to measure solar winds. This work is what allows us to have hybrid vehicles. Easley also worked as an Equal Opportunity Counselor, educated people about workplace discrimination, and tutored underprivileged students.
